The Anatomy of a Great Sports Event Ticket

The anatomy of a great sports event ticket has to be to a game or sporting event that the person or fan find most enjoyable, and is often willing to spend his or her very last buck to be apart of the exciting atmosphere, taunting the opposing team, and inspiring the team to win.  The factors mentioned in the previous sentence are not the only factors that make a sports event ticket great.  Many would say how cheap a ticket can be purchased; however, a cheap ticket is great, but the greatness of an event ticket really dependent upon the game, match, or race to which access is granted from the ticket stub.  The last factor is based on hindsight because a person cannot know beforehand how memorable the game, match or race will be until it is completed.

 Based on few factors I mentioned earlier, I look at few sporting events that made the sports event ticket a must have item. The New Orleans Saints win over the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV was quite memorable for the win; however, it was a win that was most appreciated by fans that went through season after season of losing.  Those fans truly understood why Saints 31-17 victory over the Colts was such an accomplishment.  

A ticket to view March Madness, NCAA Basketball Tournament is one of the most exciting events on the planet.  The ticket of all tickets could not be truly summed up one game, because they have been a few tournaments that made people happy that they were there in attendance.  If I had to choose then, the most memorable game occurred in 1983 NCAA Finals.  Dereck Whittenburg shot the most unforgettable air ball in college basketball history that was followed by most memorable tip-in college basketball made by Lorenzo Charles.  Charles’ basket secured a 54-52 victory for the North Carolina State Wolfpack over the heavily favored Houston Cougars or better known as Phi Slamma Jamma.  The late coach Jim Valvano raced around the court trying to find someone to hug.  The Wolfpack was not given a chance and the Cougars was suppose to wipe the floor with them but a miracle tip in and the excitement that followed made the ticket stub most memorable.

Many sporting events such as the World Series, The Masters, World Cup, Stanley Cup Championship, and many more have potential to make a ticket a collectors’ item or just provide a memorable moment for a person once the event is completed.  A great sports event ticket can begin with hype, but only after the event is completed will anyone know if the ticket was great to have.  In the future, for those who save their ticket, will get to relive the memory of being at the game, match or race and reminiscence of just how great it was.
